The DVD was withdrawn from sale as Firefly Productions asked if they could have a copy of it for its Channel 5 commissioned documentary series on Britain's Closest UFO Encounters. It did not form part of the filming contract and a separate contract would need to be agreed if any part of the DVD was to appear in the documentary.

As per the result of that documentary as described below, the DVD was not used in the production and it seems that Firefly Productions is now resisting the return of the unused DVD.
On Saturday April 21st, 2007, a visit was paid to the Berwyn range for the express purpose of demonstrating that the object observed by nurse Pat Evans and her two daughters on the evening of January 23rd 1974 and by other witnesses, was an Unidentified Object and a UFO respectively and most definately, was not a poacher's lamp as claimed by at least one sceptical investigative author.

The objective of the exercise was to be positioned on the slopes of Cader Berwyn at dusk, where the craft was situated in accordance with witness testimony and display a lamp for comparison.

Nurse Pat Evans without whom there would probably be no Berwyn UFO mystery, has indicated where on the slopes she believed the object rested. Cross referenced with other witness testimony, the general area of the crash/landing site has been established with great accuracy, again, with inclusion of reference to topographical features, agricultural and forestry practises by this author.

The whole event was recorded without any editing (warts and all). The filming was done by Phil Catterall, founder and Chairman of the Bolton UFO Society. The film is expected to have around 50 minutes running time.

A lamp was taken to the UFO crash/landing site and once fully dark, was switched on and then, several movements were performed, consistent with lamping movements.

As a time served game and water keeper, trained observer and naturalist, with a background extending three decades in the hunting, shooting, fishing business, this method of pursuing game is well understood by this author. Indeed, he employed the same method in the 1970s using the same materials to construct crude but effective lamps, from car batteries and car headlamps.

The event, captured on film and which will be transferred to DVD by the end of May '07, shows the lamp experiment and this coupled with ancilliary evidence that the object seen by Pat Evans could not possibly have been poachers at work.

Viewers of the film will have no doubt whatsoever that what is seen in the film is indeed a lamp. It is obviously a lamp and acts like a lamp. Even at rest to simulate a static, non moving light, it is still a lamp. It could not be mistaken for anything else. Thus, it will be difficult to confuse this with an object which as Mrs Evans described, was anything but a lamp.

Mrs Pat Evans and her daughters have always insisted that what they saw was not a lamp, but a structured object, highly luminous and which changed colour periodically.

As a brief overview of the day, it commenced with an introduction to the experiment by myself and a short discussion with Paul Henderson of Colwyn Bay, North Wales, a railway enthusiast with a particular passion for North Wales branch lines. Paul has delivered talks on this subject to groups in both English and Welsh (despite his Liverpool accent!!!).

The remnants of the trackbed of the Ruabon to Bala line was filmed and Paul pointed out that the line (axed by Beeching) had its rails and sleepers removed between Bala and Llangollen in 1971, a full three years before the Berwyn UFO event. This precludes any claim by any UFO investigators that UFO crash debris might have been removed from the Berwyn mountain range via train.

The filming here took place at the site of the old Cynwyd station some two and a half miles from Llandrillo.

Next, Llandrillo itself was visited and it was pointed out that from the public telephone box, which is still in the traditional style and red colour, calls were made by the public to the Police within minutes of the earth tremor which occured that night.

One caller was able to tell the Police that lights and beams could be seen above the ridge which rises directly up from Llandrillo, this further adding to the theory that a plane had perhaps crashed.

This testimony is important, because in reality, the mountain slope above Llandrillo is in fact part of Cader Bronwen Mountain. Cader Berwyn, where the object landed is some three to five miles further away.

Cader Bronwen is also the site of the Moel Ty Uchaf stone circle, which has attracted interest from UFO enthusiasts and investigators, once showing high levels of radiation than surrounding ground for one UFO investigator. This without a control is an unsound result and the radiation level proves very little. And of course, it can have no relationship with the UFO. It demonstrates too, the poor quality of researching this event, and the persistence of some enthusiasts to allude to 'folklore and superstitious' connections between ancient monuments and the UFO hypothesis.

Why any researcher searched Cader Bronwen for evidence of a crashed or landed UFO (or a bit of both), when the primary witnesses saw it 5 miles from the stone circle is baffling. It is as if a witness sees a UFO, but the researcher wants it to be elsewhere to fit in with personal conclusions and beliefs!!!

Much literature about this incident records that authorities and later UFO investigators, actually searched Cader Bronwen rather than Cader Berwyn, though the whole range was given a cursory inspection by scientists looking for signs of a metorite impact.

After a short break for refreshment in Bala, we proceeded to Cader Berwyn on the Llangynog road, stopping to take in the vista of the bleak moorland from where Mrs Evans first noticed the object. Looking to the opposite side of the road, I was able to point out to Phil, the patches of burned heather on the moorland, a practise to ensure grouse conservation for shooting.

Moving on, the party traversed a rough track connecting the main road with a route through the forestry plantations lining the valley where the river flows eventually to and through Llandrillo. One can veer off this track if walking and follow the route to the summit of Moel Sych then Cader Berwyn, crossing the National Nature Reserve ground.

Once a clear view of the Berwyn slope was had, I demonstrated how a head lamp and car battery was utilised, before setting off across the moorland to be in position before full darkness.

Once in position and communicating via CB radio, I was able to perform various tasks using the lamp, this being filmed from about a mile away. I was able to see clearly, all the car head lamps of vehicles travelling along the road to and from Llangynog.

A couple slowed down, no doubt as a result of the drivers noticing the lamp on the mountain slope. Thus proving the point, that if Pat Evans could see poacher's lamps, the poachers could see the car head lamps. Yet despite this according to one sceptic investigator's write-up, the poachers just carried on regardless, blatantly using a lamp to just 'sit' there burning up its battery charge and advertising to the world their illegal presence!!!

It was quite a trek returning to the vehicles. Despite having a lamp, it is best not to use such and make use of natural if sparse light. When using a torch or such like, one is blinded as soon as it is switched off. Back at the vehicles, the event concluded.
UFO WITNESS INTERVIEWS.
Saturday June 9th 2007.

An interview was conducted with two witnesses to the Berwyn UFO incident. Their evidence will be published when verified. A special trip to the Llandrillo area was made to conduct these interviews.
On Friday April 4th 2008, another informal discussion took place between myself and Huw Lloyd, the then teenage farmer's son who escorted Police Officers up to the lower slopes of Cader Bronwen on the 23rd of January 1974 in pursuit of a suspected plane crash.

His testimony shed great light on the true events and single handedly demonstrated that the UFO seen by Pat Evans and her two daughters could not possibly have been a poacher's lamp, a conclusion used by individuals keen to debunk such witnesses.
CUFOG has been at odds with the British Geological Survey since 2006. Since then, matters have spiralled downwards. So much so, that a formal complaint was made to the Director of Information at the BGS at the start of June '08.

Following a Freedom of Information request which the BGS tried to deter from going ahead by making an outrageous request for payment (0.22p per photocopy - is this the most expensive in Britain plus, £25/hour to search for the requested info'?), a modified request was made.

Questions asked were answered by Dr Roger Musson who had previously frustrated attempts to secure answers and information. As expected, the answers given were vague or not given at all and nearly all were contradicted by published information and information supplied by MoD and Police forces to name a few.

Denial was made regarding one particular document, a map, which it was claimed did not exist, despite a personal friend of his publishing that he'd had access to it. Indeed, some documentation supplied by the BGS clearly makes reference to such a map!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?????????

A letter of complaint was filed asking for a copy of all my correspondence to be sent to the Director of the BGS. This included two letters of complaint previously sent to Roger Musson which were ignored and an email message submitted via its own website, which it denied receiving.

An internal review is now being made of my complaints.

I fully expect the BGS to close ranks. Therefore, I have kept back some 80% of the evidence at my disposal to prove that the BGS or at least certain individuals therein are covering up evidence vital to research into the Berwyn Mountain UFO presence on January 23rd 1974.

Remaining evidence will be used in any appeal to the Information Commissioner if the BGS as much as thinks of continuing this cover up and defending its own.

I would add, that the likes of the Ministry of Defence and the Civil Aviation Authority and the Police are expected to be dishonest and evasive with enquirers, yet even if so, these three agencies have all provided me with copious amounts of literature, for which none have asked me for a penny and which the entire BGS file relating to the Bala earth tremor that night comes no where near in comparison.

22p for a photocopy is a national disgrace and is either blatant profiteering or more likely, is designed to deter people from seeking information. As regards a £25/hour fee, if a BGS staff member was actually earning £25 per hour then I would pay. However it is not the case. The true cost is whatever that person is earning per hour.

Win or lose, I have no intention of letting the BGS get away with fobbing me off.

If some of its staff think I'm nuts for being a UFO enthusiast, then so be it. However my beliefs should be of no concern whatsoever. It is my job to seek information and it is the BGSs job to supply it if the Law demands such. As such, when I make a request for information, I fully expect to receive it in full and untampered with. I will not be abused by elitests who frown on anyone who does measure up to their expectations or who wish to deny me access to documents which may also prove an organisation's involvement in denying the truth to British citizens, or, may even prove that friends are simply helping out their friends.

In answer to this, the question must be asked, Why was Elfed Roberts rushing to Llandrillo moments after the tremor which occurred at 8.38 pm, when the Police locally were only reporting a suspected plane crash above the village to superiors at 9 pm?

In the Firefly programme, he stated he headed towards Bala at first fearing a dam burst at Llyn Celyn. He must therefore have known the event was a tremor.

Which version is true?

These words are exactly as spoken on the TV documentary, proving that the documentary content was supplied (deliberately or otherwise) to at least the North Wales edition of the Daily Post before transmission of the programme.

An excellent sighting and accurately recorded, but three weeks after the Berwyn Mountain UFO Incident in January 1974. Thus, totally irrelevant to the event and should not have been included in the programme.
Copy of emailed circular sent out in response to the Channel 5 documentary on the Berwyn Mountain UFO incident, broadcast on July 2nd 2008, the first in a series titled Britain's Closest UFO Encounters.

A road sign in Llandrillo.

This sign demonstrates that Llandrillo is 8 miles by road from Bala. The peak of Cader Bronwen Mountain is a further two miles or so away, putting Bala between 9 and 11 miles from the summit.

This did not stop the Commissioning Editor of Channel 5 illustrating the earth light theory promoted by Jenny Randles by moving the epicentre of the earth tremor 10 miles from Bala and its fault line, to suggest that such lights were on the Berwyn Mountains.

Earth lights if real, would be found along the fault line and would not glow for nearly two hours - the time the reported UFO was above and on Cader Berwyn Mountain.

By showing the epicentre of the tremor where in fact it actually was, a blind, congenital idiot could see that 'earth lights' could not be responsible for any luminesence on the Berwyn Range.

Reply from the office of the Defence Advisory Notice Secretary within the Ministry of Defence, regarding possible censorship of the currently running (01 Aug' '08) Channel 5 UFO series in the UK.
The public telephone box in Llandrillo, famous in the Berwyn Mountain UFO Incident case, has fallen foul of planned cut backs by British Telecom. This facility has been named as one of many in rural North Wales which will be taken out of service and eventually removed due to apparent lack of use in modern times.

This box was used by villagers to telephone Police on the evening of January 23rd 1974, following the earth tremor which occured a little over 8.35 pm. Villagers using the box could see lights/beams etc coming from over the horizon of the hill crest in the background.

They were the lights of local hunters lamping rabbits.

The coincidence of tremor sounds and the lights led residents and then the Police to conclude a plane had crashed on the slopes of Cader Bronwen Mountain above and behind this ridge.

Some four miles away on a neighbouring mountain - Cader Berwyn - was a descending UFO, witnessed by residents of three separate properties.   Property resident 1 saw the UFO at 8.40 pm after leaving his abode following the tremor. Property residents 2 saw the object at 9.10pm as did Property resident 3. All then observed the UFO descend onto a lower slope of Cader Berwyn. In doing this, it left their field of vision at 9.25 pm, still descending. The resting UFO was later observed by Mrs Pat Evans and her two daughters, who were a further mile away from Llandrillo, on the B 4391 Bala to Llangynog road, at about 10 pm.

In later years, the tremor noises and lights and, Mrs Evans' sighting were hijacked by mis informed UFO enthusiasts and poor researching, to create the myth that an impacting UFO had crashed near Llandrillo and even caused the 'quake.

The UFO was nowhere near Llandrillo and there is no first hand evidence for a crash though, plenty of second hand and circumstantial. First hand witness statements do not support the theory of a crashing alien craft. And even if so, the object was still several miles from Llandrillo.

Any recovery of any debris (as claimed) or other obvious physical evidence would not have been conducted via Llandrillo. The landing (or crash/crash landing) was four miles away from Llandrillo and the nearest road was the B 4391.

16th Of September 2008.

As visitors to this site will be aware, early this year, a request was made to North wales Police for information amongst other things, relating to officers ordered to attend the events which occured on the evening of the 23rd of January 1974.

North Wales Police has repeatedly refused to hand over this information despite it persistenly claiming it would.

Clearly it believes that if stalled enough, I will give up.

That is not an option.

The last correspondence I received stated that I would receive all the information I required no later than August 8th 2008. That was some six weeks ago.

I have now written yet again to North Wales Police, this time informing the force that I regard its actions as obstructive (and illegal), and that if I do not receive the requested information, or I do not receive the requested information in full and as comprehensive as it could be, I will regard those actions as a constructive refusal to cooperate with my request and I will have no option but to advance matters. I have given NWP 28 days to cooperate.

Having said that, I do regard the information requested as sensitive enough for NWP to destroy and weather the storm rather than hand it over.

I believe the particular information requested will

a) Incriminate certain Police Officers in conspiracy to cover up events regarding the UFO sighting on Cader Berwyn and the search of Cader Bronwen,

b) Confirm liaison between NWP and the MoD to cover up events regarding the above mentioned and,

c) Prove that liaison has taken place between NWP and the British Geological Survey in order to facilitate a cover up.
ADDENDUM.

In a letter dated 04 November 2008, from North Wales Police, with the exception of two questions anwered, NWP stated that it did not have the information I sought and had requested under The Freedom Of Information Act.

This is incredible, considering the information I seek is contained within many documents already in the public domain and particularly used by debunkers of this event.

Most of the questions pertain to the identity of officers involved in specific tasks on the night and following day of the Berwyn UFO Incident. Only recently, a former Assistant Chief Constable in North Wales, lied on the documentary produced by Firefly Productions. A second in command senior Police Officer, splashed all over the press and TV, yet NWP has no record of even this guy.

As such, the only feasible retaliatory response is to appeal. And that is the case. By the close of November 2008, NWP will have in its possession an appeal request. This will compose of more than enough evidence to demonstrate that I have been obstructed thus far.

This may take time, because NWP will waste no time in dragging this out as long as possible, to deny me and the wider UFO community evidence in support of a cover up about events that January night in 1974.

North Wales Police can expect too, a formal complaint about its conduct in this matter regardless of the information it supplies.

Should NWP continue to deny me access to this information, then it will go to the Information Commissioner. I will exhaust every avenue to try and expose the corrupt colusion which without doubt occured since that event, between NWP and various agencies.

It is my current belief that NWP knows full well that I possess some information about its clandestine activities. It does not know what that is exactly and therefore, cannot release information which might contradict events as recorded by the Force.

A stunningly obvious flaw in previous investigations into the Berwyn UFO Incident (and no doubt other Welsh incidents), is the total lack of regard for information accessible in the Welsh Language, the normal everyday means of communication by the majority of witnesses to this event.

Vast amounts of information has been missed by investigators who have simply not bothered to get it translated. Also, in varying degrees, Welsh speakers have good to bad command of English. Thus, an account given in Welsh is much more accurate than if given in English in many, many cases.

I have been able to acquire much and previously unknown/unpublished material recorded in Welsh but only due to my interest in native British languages.

Here above, a non UFO related subject but outlining that interest.
